Scripture:  Leviticus 24:17-18 “Whoever takes a human life shall surely be put to death.  Whoever takes an animal’s life shall make it good, life for life.”

Observations:  Leviticus 23 was all about the feasts the Israelites were to observe.  I took a class a few years ago about the feasts, and learned that the feasts have been fulfilled through the coming of the Messiah.  Yet, many still observe them.   Chapter 24 gets into the need to keep the bread fresh and the lamps going.  But then it talked about the punishment for blasphemy – stoning… Using God’s name as a curse…Boy if that was still the rule we would be sick to death of stonings.  I had hoped my application today would be on Psalm 24.  "The Lord of host, he is the King of glory!?  In Acts Paul arrives back in Jerusalem and the fight is on.

Application: I don’t mean to get on a topic and stay there, but this Scripture just kept pulling me in.  I hate the billboard that shows a puppy and a fetus.  We have made it a federal offense to harm a puppy but we are allowing abortion for any reason.  This Scripture spells out just how wrong that is.  It repeats it in verse 21 which emphasizes it.  Please pray for an end to abortion.  We must quit denying God’s laws.

Prayer:  Lord, this is a daily prayer for me.  Please protect the unborn.  Change the minds of those who are pro choice.  Lord, purify this nation of sexual sin so that abortion is not the easy solution.  Protect those who are fighting for life.
Tomorrow’s Scripture:  Leviticus 25; Psalm 25-26; Acts 22
